There has been a big buzz surrounding the video of a speech made by ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula, in which he stated that the removal of former president Thabo Mbeki was a wrong decision.

The speech came while the ANC canvased for the upcoming national elections in 2024.

In his address which highlighted several issues, Fikile shared:

“ANC took a reckless and a wrong decision when he was left with a couple of months to get out of …, yes it was a reckless decision, why do you remove someone who has not stolen from government, who was doing his job. You sit down you remove him, what did he do?”

He continued adding:

“That’s the man who was supposed to ask a question ‘ndenze ntoni’ (what have I done)? He didn’t. Mantashe arrived there as the secretary general, told him, he left. He said what time? he wrote a letter addressed a press conference; he didn’t fight over it even though he had all the reasons.”

Fikile Mbalula: ANC Decision To Remove Former President Mbeki From Office Was Wrong, Reckless — When He Only Had A Couple Of Months Left; He Stole Nothing From Government; Mbeki Could’ve asked Ndenze Ntoni(?), But Simply Asked Mantashe What Time He Was Expected Out, Instead… pic.twitter.com/lWDgw3YBIp

Social media users shared their feeling on the video commenting:

I thought he had said Thabo Mbeki is the Dalai Lama of COPE… A man who never dismissed the allegations that he was a founding member of Congress of The People

Now he is insinuating that Jacob Zuma shouldn’t have asked “ndenze ntoni” because… you know Mbaks and Gupta story?? pic.twitter.com/jeyNGHFqUP

Others expressed how they couldn’t stand anything from the ANC led government commenting:

Why are these people given so much airtime mara. I’m at a point where when any of them speaks on tv or radio I mute , I just can’t take it anymore ?
