Like many musical artists who reach international fame and success, South African-born singer Tyla will soon embark on a world tour. However, her stops around the globe do not include parts of Africa.

On Tuesday, the Water hitmaker shared with fans on social media that not only will she release her self-titled debut album, but she will also be on a two-month tour entertaining fans in parts of Europe and North America next year. The singer is set to start her tour in Oslo, Norway on 21 March and end it in Minneapolis in the United States on 28 May.

“TYLA tour. Album drops top of the year and I’m coming to your city!” she shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The post sparked excitement among a few fans, while others expressed their disappointment in not seeing their cities – and continent – on the list of stops.

“Excuse me, what about Africa?” asked one X user.

Other local X users questioned the support Tyla would have received in SA, saying:

They’re mad at her like they would actually go to her shows if she toured locally? https://t.co/zesr4E1kGo

Tyla will definitely come to South Africa, she use to perform here before she became who she is now but upcoming artists aren’t really noticed here until they get big or make it big

She has to start that side because her demand has always been bigger outside South Africa https://t.co/CTbVkTR40Q
