Fake Gobela presenter Gogo Mathambo dies

Moja Love’s Fake Gobela presenter Sthembele Gaju, professionally known as Gogo Mathambo, has died.

As per the press statement released by Moja Love, Gogo died after succumbing to a short illness on Tuesday morning, 21 November.

“His death comes as a huge loss to the channel as he was talented and passionate about making a difference in the community,” read the statement. “Gogo presented a courageous spirit in exposing fake sangomas and gobelas and the injustices happening in that space.”

The channel then sent its condolences to Gogo’s family, friends, and fans while sharing that the funeral arranements would be communicated during the course of the week.

Many social media users were shocked by the announcement, given Gogo’s line of work.

“Maybe they are not fake gobelas after all,” wrote one X (formerly Twitter) user.

Commenting on posts that made light of the Gogo’s death, one X user said, “Yhoo. May his soul rest in peace. Stop being insensitive. This is not the time for jokes.”
