Multi-award winner and self-proclaimed Voice of Africa Kelly Khumalo left many social media users shocked when she went on a social media rampage, calling the SAMA29 out for snubbing her.

Kelly’s media frenzy took place on X (formerly known as Twitter)  where she not only swore at those who were verbally attacking her but also shared homophobic remarks.

In posts now deleted, Kelly was clearly unhappy that gospel singer Ntokozo Mbambo won Best Female Artist of the Year category considering she had better numbers than her. She started telling people that she wasn’t scared of them when they pointed out that the judges were the deciders at such events saying:

“Nontokozo naye uyazi numbers don’t lie.! asimesabi! Fus*g SAMA’s (Ntokozo also knows that numbers don’t lie, we are not scared of her. Go to hell SAMA’s .”

The mother of three also responded to a social media user’s comment with homophobic remarks, asking him to sit down until he has decided on whether he is a man or a woman.

She shared:

“Hlala phantsi wena aunty, the day you decide ukuthi uyindoda noma umfazi then we can talk, (sit down aunty, the day you decide on whether you’re or man or woman then we can talk). ”

Kelly later shared a post apologising for her homophobic remarks, adding:

“Ngonile with my homophobic remarks ngiyaxolisa that was uncalled for, (I’m in the wrong for my homophobic remarks, I am sorry that was uncalled for).”

Ngonile with my homophobic remarks ngiyaxolisa that was uncalled for.

One user suggested the reason for her apology could be that her friends who are part of the LGBTQI community called her out for her comment.

I guess you got called out by People in your circle who are LGBTQI+ alleys or are apart of the community because wena? you never apologize for anything soze ?? https://t.co/D13m0N7k1a

The Asine hitmaker agreed, sharing that the love and values her friends and would never harm them intentionally.

You right I don’t, however I love and respect my friends and will never harm them intentionally. https://t.co/6RFA12lG7q
