WATCH: Bolt driver cuts woman’s hair after insufficient fare

Social media platforms went abuzz recently after seeing a video of Bolt drivers cut their passengers’ braided hair with scissors following their inability to pay their ride’s full fare.

Riding with insufficient funds is something done by some commuters and the reason why the drivers took matters in their own hands.

In a video currently circulating, the Bolt drivers could be heard saying the ladies will learn not request Bolt when they have no money. This they said while cutting their hair with a pair of scissors.

Watching the video, the drivers started telling the lady not to look towards the camera, adding:

“Don’t move you’ll hurt yourself,” afraid that she might be hurt from the scissors if she moved a lot.

The driver and others proceeded to tell the lady they didn’t want to hurt her, adding they wanted to teach her a lesson not to abuse Bolt drivers.

One of the drivers who was standing by shared: “If you don’t pay, we do it like this.”

To which the lady responded:

“But we don’t have R300 where must we get it from?” The drivers added that after he has cut the braids, she would only need to pay the R100 that she only had.

The e-hailing drivers added a bit of humour telling the lady she needed the braids cut off as she had a lot of dandruff.

In a second video, the same drivers started cutting their passenger’s braids asking her and her friend if they also abuse their men the same way do to Bolt drivers.

On different social media platforms, users found the videos funny while some were disappointed with the way the drivers handled the matter:

“I still don’t understand why will you request imoto ungenamali (a car without cash). Why don’t catch a taxi,”

Serves them right , I mean why request when you know you don’t have money ? Those drivers risk their lives , leave their places to collect you . Le nna I’d do the same pic.twitter.com/ns05Iyp5ZR

Other users felt disgusted by the incident stating that there are other options that the driver should have used.

Uber must suspend this stupid dude. What kind of service is that one . There must be other ways
