It’s one thing to perform live in front of thousands on land, and it’s another to perform up in the sky at a silent disco. Grammy award winner Zakes Bantwini recently shared his experience performing his latest single Mama Thula in a hot air balloon in the Serengeti.

Describing the event as “an absolutely remarkable once in a lifetime experience,” Zakes (whose real name is Zakhele Madida) took to Instagram to share his last day with Daybreaker – a morning dance community – in the Serengeti, Tanzania.

According to National Geographic, the Serengeti (or Serengeti Plains) is Africa’s most well-known savanna regions, and is home to one of the continent’s highest concentrations of large mammal species.

“I got the chance to perform my new single on a hot air balloon, through a silent disco musical experience and Mama Thula [which was released on 27 October] became more than just a song!” added Zakes.

A social media user commented under the post, “Wow, breathtaking views. The goodness of God!??, ” while another admired the beauty of the song.

The Osama hitmaker also shared a few snaps of the many hot air balloons, the wildebeests and zebras that were below him, as well as the patrons who enjoyed his performance in the sky.

“An experience I’d easily relive any day!” Zakes captioned his post.
