The boxing match between actress Manaka Ranaka and social media personality Zodwa Wabantu was on everybody’s lips. Award-winning singer Makhadzi also shared her thoughts on the fight, claiming she could have came out victorious if she had a chance to battle it out against the two ladies.

Zodwa was first announced to be entering the ring with socialite Khanyi Mbau. However, Khanyi, refuted claims that she was a willing participant for the match, leaving the door open for Manaka to challenge Zodwa.

Taking place on Sunday, 22 October at The Casino Ridge in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, the fight between the two ladies lasted for three rounds and ended in a draw.

After seeing the fight, Makhadzi headed over to X (formerly Twitter) and stated that she wished it was her in the ring. She added, “I could have beaten both of them in round one. It was painful to watch two magwala (cowards) fighting. Kunini ngithiyooo (How many times have a said ‘yoh’). I was gonna win that fight shem.”

Singer and songwriter Busiswa also headed to the comments section, telling Makhadzi, “Yathand’ ukshaya chomi (You like fighting friend), to which the Ghanama songstress jokingly replied, “I love you but in that boxing ring I can be your enemy. Try me mama.”

Another social media user commented, “Nah, wena you need one [a fight] with King Monada, you participated in musangwe [village fist fight].”

Makhadzi responded, “[With] Monada it won’t work, I am the one who trained him that time [he fought] Big Zulu. He was just shy to tell people that he was trained by a woman. Already, I won.”
