Polygamist and businessman Musa Mseleku and his family were first introduced to Mzansi’s big screens in 2017 on a Mzansi Magic reality show titled Uthando Nesithembu. The reality show showed the whole country how the Mselekus navigated life as a family with four wives married to one man.
New of its kind in Mzansi’s media scenes, Uthando Nesithembu kept television viewers glued to their screens, airing for six seasons to date.
Mzansi immediately fell in love with the Musa Mseleku’s wives namely, MaCele, MaYeni, MaKhumalo and MaNgwabe, with some picking favourites among the ladies.
Collectively, the wives have 10 kids, a number Musa wished could be doubled. In one of the seasons, MaCele, MaYeni and MaNgwabe expressed that they were not interested to add more kids, fuelling a need for the polygamist to request they allow him to take a fifth wife.
Let us look at the four wives and their offspring:
MaCele (wife number one)
At the beginning of the reality show, the Mselekus worked together in the family businesses, except for the last wife MaNgwabe, who was a nursing student at the time, something others wished could have been different as they were all working hard to make money for the family.
Even though it is currently unclear if MaCele is still fully operational at the family business, she has ventured into a talk show, hosting Igumbi Lamakhosikazi with the rest of the wives. MaCele is also a motivational speaker and a proud mother.
She has three kids from her marriage, Lwandle, Abongwe, and Owami. She, however, has raised her husband’s first child Snenhlanhla, later taking in her first child as well.
MaYeni (wife number two)
Musa had shared in a few episodes that he first dated MaYeni and wanted to marry her but her family refused for her to marry into polygamy, later agreeing and marrying after MaCele. She was, however, the first to have a child with Musa, but culturally he cannot take the position of a first born as he was born before they got married.
MaYeni is also a member of Igumbi Lamakhosikazi and a businesswoman, owning a clothing business.
She is a mother to Mpumelelo “Sbindi” Mseleku, Mniniwezintozonke, and Obanzi.
MaKhumalo (wife number three)
The bubbly and energetic MaKhumalo has worked in many fields including the family business and the media. She featured on season two of the reality show The Real Housewives of Durban. She is also an event MC, radio presenter, and a member of Igumbi Lamakhosikazi with her sister wives.
Even though MaKhumalo has not given birth, she is a mother to Musa’s child Mpiloenhle.
MaNgwabe (wife number four)
Mangwabe is a registered nurse who had to take a step back running the company businesses with the rest of the wives as she needed to concentrate on her studies. The mother of two stood her ground when it was raised in a meeting that the others were asking her to take her role in the family business more seriously. MaNgwabe is also a member of the wives’ talk show.
She has two girls named Mawande and Zenande.
