Celebrity chef Siba Mtongana won big at the fourth annual World Culinary Awards which took place at Atlantis The Royal in Dubai.
The Great South African Bake Off judge attended the prestigious awards ceremony with her hubby, Brian Mtongana, to receive her award for Africa’s Best Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant for SIBA – The Restaurant.
In a lengthy post, Siba took to Instagram to share her excitement on winning the award as well as thanking her team for their unwavering support.
“Another international award… South Africa, we did it, again!! Brought it home! ?????????????????. Tonight at the world prestigious @WorldCulinaryAwards in Dubai hosted at the glorious @atlantistheroyal Hotel… For AFRICA’S BEST FINE DINING HOTEL RESTAURANT… and the winner is… @sibatherestaurant at the @sun_thetablebay in Cape Town, South Africa! ??️???.
“Shoo! Where do I even start??♀️ It’s always an honour and privilege to represent my country and continent on a global stage on every project l’ve worked on ever since I started my career in the culinary and food industry with award-winning cooking shows like Siba’s Table and Cooking With Siba airing all over the world… Phakama Mzansi… Phakama Afrika! ❤️??️.”
She then congratulated and thanked her team. “[C]ome rain or sunshine, sharing their skills, passions and love for people, food and service, and believing in this vision of elevating our food on a global level and stage. As well as our landlord, The Table Bay Hotel and Sun International who believed in our crazy idea of opening a restaurant in the worst of times, during covid. ?.”
