Deli Malinga speaks on winning her first SAFTA

South African actress Deli Malinga has won her first award at the 17th Annual South African Film And Television Awards (Saftas) after three decades of being in the industry.

The star best known for her role on Muvhango and Redemption won the Best Supporting Actress in a Telenovela award for her role as MaNgema in Redemption. 

In a recent interview with TshisaLIVE, she spoke about the importance of not overlooking ‘small roles’, she also thanked the cast and crew of Redemption for believing in her.

“Whoever doubted God should look at me and follow my story. God is alive. Thanks to the cast and crew of Redemption, thanks to the production for believing in me,” she said in the interview with TshisaLIVE.

Taking to her Instagram, in a lengthy post she announced that she has been won a Santa for her MaNgema role on Redemption, she further thanked her supporters for voting  for her.

“I never thought something like this will happen to me (I don’t know why bcos YES I always give 900% commitment and dedication to my craft. Lord God keep on shinning in me, help me to be always humble and increase more love for ppl. My shootout goes to @seriti.tv and @burntoniontv for seeing me fit for the MaNgema role on Redemption, viewers at home for voting for me and organizers of SAFTAs 17 God bless you, what a feeling! ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote.
