South African actor Zolisa Xaluva is set to make his much anticipated return to television in the show that is set to take the much coveted time slot that was once dominated by Imbewu, which will air its final episode on 14 April 2023.

The new show is filmed by a production company called The Final Chapter Production. The new soapie is titled Smoke and Mirrors. The soapie is set in a small town called Emnyameni, which is a mining town.

The home of the show, eTV, released the following statement regarding the show:

“Smoke & Mirrors is set in the landscape of a small mining town called Emnyameni. Here, we come to learn that the story lives up to its name – nothing and no one is truly as they seem. Introducing the character of Thandiswa, a hairdresser by day, an escort by night, and a girl on a mission to rid the town of ‘The Unholy Trinity’, the group of morally corrupt men who run Emnyameni.”

In a statement according to Zalebs, released by Etv, it is added that the series is led by a female cast where the lead character of Thandiswa Mseleku will be played by Ayanda Bandla.

The show also features the renowned actor Zolisa Xaluva. He is set to play the lead antagonist who is the leader of The Unholy Trinity, which is the gang that Thandiswa will attempt to take down.

The publication also reported that there are many other veteran actors who will grace our TV screens, from the likes of Nomvea, played by Charmaine Mtinta, who is a powerful sangoma to Virginia, played by Zinhle Mabena.
