South African singer and songwriter Simphiwe Dana stars in a new Netflix short film title Mamlambo.

Mamlambo is a short film directed by Gcobisa Yako, a filmaker from Gqeberha, Eastern Cape. This short film is part of the African folktales reimagined anthology, it is amongst five other films that are created by other African filmmakers.

According to NetflixSA, the talented director Gcobisa is “driven by the hunger for representation of marginalised communities and drawn towards stories that are created with intention and help shift perceptions.”
