Fans react to Bongani Mtolo’s Radio 2000 exit

Award winning radio presenter, Bongani Mtolo has resigned from Radio 2000. These news have left many of his fans quite saddened. 

The radio presenter for Radio 2000 breakfast show Bongani said he chose not to renew his contract with the public broadcaster and resigned.

The radio host took to his Instagram timeline to note to his fans that March is his last month at the station, and he is grateful for the opportunity.

“I’ve decided not to renew my contract with @radio2000_za, this will be my last month on the Show. Thank you for the opportunity. Thank you to the team Nala, Lonwabo, Thabo, Dineo and Aviwe , we did amazing things together. We were voted as the Best Breakfast show in the country back-to-back (Liberty radio awards) namanje kusaphethe thina. The show is now making money, we attracted advertising, talkability. The one thing I’m most proud of we had fun.”

“And to the 2 million Gang Gang thank you for rocking with me.” he wrote.

Many of his fans were shocked and saddened by the news of his departure from the radio station.

“This is sad news. I started listening to Radio2000 because of this breakfast show. Thank you for such great Radio experience. I’ve got so much love for you and your team,” wrote a fan.

Another fan said: “That so sad Bongane you the reason I listen to radio 2000 we miss you. All the best.”

“I thought we had an unspoken contract with you to never pull a “Bongo Muffin” on us aiiii,” wrote fan.

“Oh no Mtolo how can you do that to us? But may I wish you all the best…uyaphi manje? Said another fan.

“So sad but thank you for good radio. Super proud of what you brought to us everyday without failure. #2 million gang gang forever.” wrote another fan.
