African Fashion International (AFI) is making a come back after a two year break.

According to event organisers, the fashion week will be held in Cape Town from the 21 -25 of March 2023 and applications for designers all over the African continent to showcase at this event.

On a statement shared by AFI it stated that this year they will be celebrating their 15th year anniversary and their theme will be “Fashion, Art and Design” and promises to bring cutting-edge fashion innovation and technology, creating a stimulating atmosphere of creativity.

For up and coming designers, this looks to be an interesting event that can help grow their brand, as the five day event will encompass a few things they can learn from.

“As part of our 15-year celebration, AFI Cape Town Fashion Week will bring together established and young designers, fashion lovers, influential figures, and the youth, through music, fashion, and art. There will be runway shows, designer presentations, the AFI Masterclass, and networking opportunities with key stakeholders. It is the perfect platform for local and international buyers, media, and celebrities to discover Africa’s hidden gems.” -says Marketing Manager of AFI, Roshnee Pillay

The founder and executive chair of the show, Dr Precious Motsepe says “Fashion offers more than an escape into our aspirations, it is also a critical sector for cultural and economic value as well as job creation.”

The organisation says the venue will be announced in due time, as it will be staged in multiple locations in Cape Town.
