Who said you can’t enjoy Valentine’s day as a single independent woman?

These days some single women have gone out of their way to make themselves happy without needing a man to provide for them or make them happy.

As the saying goes “If you can’t make yourself happy you will fall in the long line of women who are waiting for that perfect man to make them happy.”

According to Women’s health for this Valentine’s day it is totally okay to feel lonely but instead of focusing on being single, you can take the opportunity to spoil yourself or take yourself out and do something memorable.

Here are some ideas you can do as a single lady on Valentine’s day:

  • For an indoors celebration of self

Do an array of finger food in a nice set up with mini desserts and enjoy them with bubbly or a bottle wine of your choice. Set up music that will put you in a great mood or nice comedy chick flick movies or housewives.

  • Pick an activity of your choice

Some people like taking old clothes and redesigning them, painting or challenging yourself in doing something you wouldn’t normally do.

  • Buy yourself a new sex toy

Learn to satisfy yourself without needing a man to do so, that’s if you’re a single lady.

  • Go out and visit places you haven’t seen in your city

This could be a museum, a tourist site or any place you thought you would visit when you get a chance, remember it’s your time and you’re not pleasing anyone but yourself.

  • Self pampering, self care

You can go to a spa for a full treatment that includes your manicure and pedicure, go to the beach with a picnic basket or go to a shopping spree for accessories.

There is one thing we seem to miss as ladies, is to find simple pleasure in the smallest things and enjoy the present moment that you’re in.

According to Cosmopolitan  “when you’re celebrating you, that means you get to celebrate on your own terms. In other words, being single on Valentine’s Day means you get to spend an entire day doing whatever you want.”
