Learn to be positive: Acceptance is key!

Being positive and accepting the person that you are can liberate you from societal norms.

Adaptations of how you live your life according to other people’s lifestyle, can be stressful, pressured to meet certain standards and expensive.

Why do it to yourself when you can live life to the best of your ability?

According to Mayo Clinic, positive thinking doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be realistic about life. Starting with self-talk and being aware of the unspoken thoughts. If you constantly feed your mind negativity, your outcome is likely to be pessimistic.

The positive outcomes about being positive:

1. Increased life span because you become a happy person.

2. Unlikely to become depressed because you’re living your life according to you.

3. Lower levels of distress and pain.

4. Greater resistance to illnesses because the more you put yourself first is when you take care of your health.

5. Better psychological and physical well-being to do the exercises that are good for you and not because it’s trendy to do so.

6. Better cardiovascular health and reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease and stroke.

However, HealthLine views positive thinking and acceptance as something that you work on “it is not magic and it won’t make all of your problems disappear. What it will do is make problems seem more manageable and help you approach hardships in a more positive and productive way.”

The takeaway is to enjoy life as it is and manage your expectations from other people.
