Setting goals is important and it helps form new behaviours, it helps guide your focus and helps you sustain that momentum in life.

Setting goals also helps align your focus which will give you more direction and promote a sense of self-mastery. In the end, you can’t manage what you don’t measure, and you can’t improve upon something that you don’t properly manage. Which is why it is super important to set those goals up!

Here is how you can set your goals in 2023 that will help you stay focused.

Yvette Aloe a life coach and author, suggests that you follow these simple guidelines which will help you live a happy and fortified life by setting these following goals:

  1. Make sure you write down your goals.
  2. Be specific: If you are vague about what you want will get vague results. If you want a job describe the office environment, the location etc.
  3. Put a time on your goal, a goal without a set time is just a wish. So, include the day of the month or year.
  4. Your goal needs to appeal to your sense of brain. You can either record yourself (audio) or visualise it sight by creating a vision board.
  5. Write down the benefits of achieving your goals. Which will therefore help you find purpose in the goal and allow you to keep going.
  6. Write down what you have and what you will need to achieve your goals, most times. She advised individuals to not focus on the things which they do not have but much rather focus on what you do have which will help you get started on your goal straight away.
