White Gold wins big at the Pan African Film Festival

Local film White Gold won an award at the Pan African Film Festival following its world premiere at the US festival. The film won the Best Short Narrative in the Oscar 2021 qualifying category.

The film’s lead actress, Refilwe Modiselle shared the exciting news on social media. She said in part; “This is for all the kids that were made to believe they were never enough, or that they don’t fit in… Or that a person wouldn’t amount to societal expectations… This is for you child, this is for you black child… This is for you vanilla baby.”

White Gold embraces the tough issues faced by people with albinism living in Africa today. It’s written & directed by award-winning director, Luke Bradford and stars, Shadi Chauke and Aubrey Mmakola.
