Thando Thabethe hangs up her earphones at 5FM

Actress and radio presenter Thando Thabethe has hung up her earphones at 5FM. The star took to social media to announce her departure from radio after 6 years at the station. She joined 5FM in 2014 and took over the drive-time slot in 2017 with the Thabooty Drive. Thando’s last show will be on 5 March 2020.

Thando shared in part; “And so…I’ve dropped the mic..after 6 years at 5 and 11 years on radio! This is it. I’ve decided to focus on other spheres in my life.”

She added, “Thank you to everyone that’s listened to my show, I’m nothing without you. #EverybodyLovesThabooty my final show will be this Thursday…”

And so, I’ve dropped the mic …after 6 years at 5FM and 11 years in radio, this is it. Hardest day of my life…but most beautiful!!! Thank you to everyone that has been instrumental in my career thus far… Tumelo Diaho, who picked up this 17 year old girl from campus radio and thought she would be something, I owe you more than I could repay you, @shoeshanista @grantnash @timzunckel @aishamohamed5 for giving me a shot at 5 and for placing THE FIRST EVER FEMALE HOST ON DRIVETIME!!!
