- 4 small apples
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 cups (500ml) water
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) red colouring
- Heat sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring it to boil until it reaches hard ball stage (pour a spoonful of the mixture into the bowl of water, it should hold together in a firm ball).
- Remove from heat, add colouring and mix well.
- Dip each apple into the candy mixture, coat thoroughly. Transfer to the lightly greased baking tray. Let it cool until the candy has fully hardened.
