Discover the secrets of real radiance with African Extracts Rooibos

This summer put your best face forward with skin that glows with radiance and looks beautifully even toned. What’s the secret? Consistent care, every day, using a trusted brand that really works, both in the lab and in real life.

Hyperpigmentation and dark marks are problems for many women, and in darker skins can be more intense and last longer. Dark skins naturally have higher levels of melanin, which can be overproduced in the upper layers of the skin, causing dark marks to form.

Many things can cause this darkening, such as over-exposure to the sun, acne or psoriasis, pimple scars, and hormonal events such as pregnancy or taking the contraception pill. The good news is that you can visibly fade dark marks and brighten dark areas and overall skin tone using beauty products with proven ingredients like Vitamin C and Vitamin B3, also known as Niacinamide.

“With dark marks the right products can make a real difference,” says Ayesha Sasman, who is the chief technical developer for the African Extracts’ Rooibos Radiance range. “As a South African brand, we really understand the factors that cause these areas of darkened skin and how they occur in our climate. We also have access to all the latest research and ingredients that we can use in formulating products that specifically address our skin concerns, and we know from our customers how dark marks and dull skin can affect their confidence.

“Our Radiance range has what we call the A, B, C of glowing skin: A is for Antioxidant-rich Bio-Active Rooibos extract, B is for Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) to fade dark marks and even skin tone, and C is for Vitamin C for skin that glows with radiance. You can trust our independent laboratory tests – with results you can actually see starting after two weeks of using the range. Getting the results in clinical trial is important, but it’s the experience of real women that shows the true effect. Our recent consumer trial with 50 women who volunteered to use the Radiance routine for a month showed most were delighted with the results they achieved. So that makes me very happy.”

After using the Radiance range in the morning and the evening for 30 days, the participants sent in some amazing before-and-after images. These are just some of their comments:

“My pigmentation spots have faded, and my skin is smoother and even toned. Absolutely loved everything about the range from the face mask to the facial cleanser and the serum as well as the spot corrector has just worked wonders on my skin and the moisturiser keeps me hydrated while the SPF protects me from the sun,” said Prenecia Maphepa.

“My skin is definitely looking healthier, radiant and most of my dark marks are fading. I really enjoyed using the products. Definitely will keep using them, commented Nwabisa Buzani.

“My skin is definitely brighter, more even and there’s reduction on the dark marks,” said Saajidha Naidoo.

Skin tips for glowing summer skin

1. Avoid the sun in the hottest parts of the day and protect yourself with a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses while you relax in the shade.
2. Use a proven range like African Extracts Radiance products with Bio-Active Rooibos antioxidants, Vitamin C and effective levels of Niacinamide. Used twice daily, Radiance is clinically proven to visibly fade dark marks from just 14 days with visibly brighter and more even-toned skin in 28 days.
3. Radiance Even Tone Day Cream has an SPF15 which helps prevent further darkening and offers sufficient protection during everyday exposure. If you have large areas of darker pigmentation, or you know you are going to be outdoors for an extended period, add a high-factor sunscreen like African Extracts’ new Classic Day Cream with an SPF50 broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen.
